In Ghaziabad, a 35-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly causing the death of a 70-year-old woman during a dispute with her son in Madhuban Bapudham. The woman, Ramvati Devi, intervened to protect her son during an argument between her son, Bijendra Kumar, and the accused, Majid, who resides in the same area. Majid pushed Ramvati during the altercation, leading to her fall and resulting in fatal injuries. Bijendra, who lives with his brother and mother in LIG flats under the Kanshiram Avas Yojna in Madhuban Bapudham, confronted Majid around 12.30 am on Sunday when he found Majid sitting outside their residence. The argument escalated, and Ramvati tried to calm the situation but ended up being pushed by Majid, causing severe injuries that resulted in her death. Ramvati's body underwent a post-mortem examination, and an FIR was lodged at Madhuban Bapudham police station under relevant sections of the law. The accused was presented in court and has been remanded to judicial custody.
